Harmonizers - Spring 2014

The Harmonizers is a mixed chorus of  about 45 residents of the Charlestown Retirement Community in Catonsville, MD,  who give two concerts a year; a Spring Concert at the beginning of June and a Holiday Concert at the beginning of December.

The 2017 Holiday Concert will be given on Thursday, December 7 and Friday, December 8 at 7:30 p.m. in the Auditorium of the Edgewood Building on the Charlestown Campus, Catonsville, MD. The doors will open at 7:00 p.m. The picture above was taken at the Spring 2014 Concert in the Auditorium.

The week following the Auditorium concerts, a shorter concert is usually given in the Activity Center of the Continuing Care facility.   In 2017 this concert will be given on Thursday, December 14.

The picture below was taken May 23, 2015 at the opening Memorial Day ceremony at the Field of Honor on the front field of Charlestown. The Director, Evelyn Chesnutt, backed by the Harmonizers, is leading the audience in singing the Star-Spangled Banner. The Field displayed 1000 American flags, many purchased to honor a Veteran.

The Harmonizers also participated in the opening ceremony on Saturday, May 28, 2016.

Anne Skillman, wife of webmaster and Harmonizer Bass, dies of complications of dementia.

For about the last three years I have been the caregiver for my wife of over 68 years who suffered from Vascular Dementia. She is at peace now, having died Sunday morning, March 19 at  the skilled nursing care center at Charlestown Retirement Communuty where we have lived the past seven years.  At the bottom of my home page  are links to the slide show I presented celebrating her life and to the passout at the celebration that was held in the Charlestown auditorium to an overflow crowd of her friends. Her smile and sparkling personality will be missed by all who knew her.
